Hi, I'm Wolf.

I'm an acoustic musician from Wollongong.

I’ve played and loved music from as early as I can remember. I started on the Guitar just like my dad, learning to play a few chords here and there, and later took up Saxophone and Clarinet a few days a week with my Mum. I always felt like a bit of a dork playing these old instruments as a kid, and it was only during my adulthood that I came to appreciate how special and formative this experience was. During my teens I played a lot of electric guitar and later moved on to classical style acoustic. I never thought to try singing and didn't think I would be much good at it, but after a few red hot sessions of karaoke in my twenties I thought I'd better have another crack. I learned to sing and play a few songs to play to my friends at gatherings and parties. To my surprise quote a few of them told me it sounded pretty good!

My first true live performance happened by chance while I was travelling in a town called Galway, on the west coast of Ireland. The band stopped to take a break and asked if anyone in the audience wanted to have a go, with a fair bit of liquid confidence on my side I stepped up to the stage and played my best rendition of "Don't think Twice it's Alright" by Bob Dylan. I found the experience thrilling and in that moment decided that's what I wanted to do.

Since then I've played close to 500 gigs across bars, clubs, weddings, festivals and big stages, I've written and released my own music and amassed over a million Spotify streams.

Of all of these experiences some of my most cherished moments have come playing at weddings. I love everything about playing them. I love the hushed anticipation as the guests arrive, I love watching the groom make nervous jokes with his mates as he waits for his soon-to-be to walk down the aisle, I love watching the patience of the guests turn to forbearing amusement as the bride is inevitably late, I love watching the father tear up during the first dance, and I love listening to the speeches (especially the ones that go too far). Most of all, I love plying my art atop of these moments and moving sonically amongst them.

Over the years I've found that the secret to the perfect line or melody - the one that gives the room chills, lies in connecting with these moments, and using them as an emotional palette from which to draw from - leaving the canvas sparse to emphasize subtle moments of tension and release, and splashing colour across moments of joy, pushing them ever so slightly higher. This is what gives live music life, and that life flows through every space and person in the room.

I would love to live all of this with you, and make your special day just that little bit better.
